About Me

Hi! My name is Madeline Doolen. I'm a Painter and Product Director in Portland, Oregon. 

I grew up in Oregon at a small family-owned Nursery and although I didn't know it at the time, it has influenced my deep love for nature and plants. I used to sit in the field at my house and paint the nature around me. My favorite thing in the whole world was getting a new canvas and picking out new colors that matched the image in my mind. It remains my favorite thing to this day. 

I started painting from a young age and went to school for architecture and design where I learned the basics of urban drawing and spent hours in the studio perfecting my building designs and sketches. I quickly realized I enjoyed drawing and painting much more than the actual architecture and math part of school and swiftly switched my major to Communications and Marketing while continuing to paint on the side. 

I now work as a Digital Strategist at a Tech company, but my heart still belongs to the canvas. I love sharing my art with my friends and family, which typically takes the form of custom greeting cards for Holidays, Birthdays, or just because. In 2019, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I found it was more important than ever to reach out to loved ones and let them know you care. That is why I decided to open my store. Greeting cards feel really special to me and I make every single one with love. I want the recipients of these cards to feel like they are opening a little slice of artwork that they could frame and keep on their desk or just enjoy in the moment!
For now, my store mostly has greeting cards, but I will expand the shop to original watercolor paintings and prints soon!
